Bill of Lading (BOL or B/L): a written receipt given by a carrier for goods accepted for transportation.
Intermodal (or Multimodal): involving more than one form of carrier (truck, rail, ship, or plane).
Less-Than-Truckload (LTL): is the transportation of releatively small freight weighing less than 10,000 pounds.
Pallet: a small, low, portable platform on which goods are placed for storage or moving.
Oversize Load: more than 13' 6" high, 8' 6" wide, or 80' long,

Semi-trailer Truck:
Box (or Van): The most common trailer.
Drop-deck: type of flatbed in which the floor drops down.
Flatbed: a load floor, removable side rails, and bulkhead in front to protect the tractor.
Lowboy: type of flatbed in which the floor is as low to ground as possible.
Reefer (Refrigerator Truck): box trailer with a heating/cooling unit.
Truckload (TL): Large freight from a single customer that weighs more than 10,000 pounds or fills the entire trailer space.
Waybill: a list of goods sent by a common carrier.
